SEE THE SPEAKER BIOS & SCHEDULE!

My name is Melanie Tapson and my superpower is voice therapy!

My training and experience working with the voice is both broad and deep, spanning almost 30 years across careers as a professional singer, a Singing Voice Specialist voice teacher, a voice educator, and a registered speech language pathologist. I love taking a holistic approach to voice optimization; knowing that a person's voice is part of them, their whole body, and is shaped by their experiences in this world – as well as what they need to communicate. Together, alongside a widespread and diverse team, we dig deep into what’s keeping a voice from being in effortless balance, or preventing someone from really sharing their most authentic self, and help restore their vocal power – right away.

THE POWER OF VOICE

Voice has been my life's work in so many different ways. But the other thing I love most in this world is bringing amazing people together!  The Power Of Voice is the perfect mashup of brilliant voice enthusiasts (this incredible roster of talent and YOU, fellow voice geek) across the vocal universe.  It's a celebration in a time when things have felt pretty bleak, and it's an opportunity to come together in an isolated world.

It's also an opportunity to give back. By providing high quality continuing education, featuring an incredibly diverse range of perspectives (including voices that we don't often have the privilege of learning from), offering free sessions, donating a share of the proceeds, and offering subsidies to encourage diversity in participation, too, we're making room at the table for everyone who wants to build a community around the power of voice.

I truly hope you enjoy learning, growing, celebrating, sharing, and connecting with one another around our mutual passion:  voice.

OK! I'M IN ALREADY!

Does
"starving artist"
feel a little TOO literal?

 We'd like to help.

The last three years have been... well, what's the synonym for "unprecedented" we can stomach? We know how hard it's been. COVID has affected us all in so many ways - both large and small.

We hear you.

And we got you.

The team here at The Power of Voice is keenly aware that while we've all been weathering the same storm, many of us have been in some incredibly leaky boats. And it feels unfair. Theatres were dark for too long. Restaurants that used to give performers work between shows have closed down. Some clinics and studios didn't survive the transition online. And the inequities facing some folx have been magnified through it all. Artists and small business owners who want to further their education may find themselves unable to access the tools they need to succeed ...

... and we want to help with that.

Apply for a subsidy

That's why, in addition to donating a portion of proceeds to Harmonize for Speech and the SOCAN Foundation Fund, we're making a subsidy available to 10 folx that will allow them to access this incredible content at half price. Recipients will receive half off the full virtual admission.

Click below for the nomination form, and yes, please nominate yourself!

Nomination Deadline: March 30, 2023

Exhausted thinking about the cost of filling in your knowledge gaps?

 We'd like to help.

School is expensive. Training is expensive. Life in general is beyond expensive right now. Students right now have it tough - the pandemic impact is real, and it costs a ton to be competitive when those choice job postings for specialty voice clinics pop up. It's expensive taking specialty training that helps you express to clients just how knowledgeable you are.

We hear you.

And we got you.

The team here at The Power of Voice is made up of lifelong students (of many things!) and both of us are teachers, too. We have a real love of education, of sharing knowledge, of making sure to provide access  to the kind of education and training you need to have a satisfying and wildly successful career on your terms.

And we want to help with that.
